overstock With dozens of different metals and stones, and hundreds of designs and styles, picking an engagement ring has never been more difficult. So, instead of chancing it and hoping you know your fiancé as well as you think you do, why not pick out a promise ring to pop the question and then go engagement ring shopping together to be sure you get it spot-on. Promise rings also known as commitment rings are often given to partners as a pre-engagement ring to signify a commitment to the relationship and a pledge to be together forever. Buy a pretty (but cheaper) promise ring to use in the actual proposal if you want to propose with some bling, before going shopping together later to pick out the expensive engagement ring of her choice and to ensure she likes it and it fits. The promise ring can then be worn on the right ring finger and your fiancé gets a proposal to tell all her friends about and the ring she has always dreamed of.
