How to propose by the water’s edge

23rd July '14

The sun is shining, the Mercury is rising and its the perfect weather for an outdoors summery proposal. So here are some ideas on how to pop the question by the waters edge.

Narrow boat: It doesn’t get much more romantic or relaxing than drifting along the river on your very own narrow boat from pub to pub and it could also make the perfect spot for the perfect proposal. Call in some favours from friends and have them set up a Will you marry me? sign at the riverside, with a picnic for two and a beautiful bouquet of flowers and wait for your girlfriend to spot them as you float past

Fishing for love: The sun has got his hat on and a fishing trip to the lake could be the perfect day of relaxation to share with your other half. Pack a picnic and head to the water. Remember to hook the ring onto your fiancé-to-be rod when she’s not looking and wait for her to reel it in!

Punting proposal: Spend a romantic afternoon, just the two of you, punting along the River Cam taking in the beautiful and regal sights of historic Cambridge in the sunshine. Crack open a bottle of bubbly, snack on some sumptuous strawberries and when you’re both 100% relaxed prepare to ask that all-important question.
