As the pair are both adventure seekers we created a day full of fun activities leading up to the big occasion. As the couple loves going to the movies we also tied in two most loved films filmed on the lake - House of Gucci and James Bond Casino Royale. And as the two delight in unique once-in-a-lifetime experiences we knew their Lake Como proposal needed to have the extra WOW factor, including the privatisation of one of the most exclusive villas on the lake for the night.

The day of the Lake Como Italy Proposal
It all started with a knock at the door... when J opened she found a locked briefcase with a code to decipher, two shaken not stirred cocktails and a note with instructions for her and N, the two "agents" (to align with the James Bond theme) to get ready for the day ahead. J learnt that she must complete a series of quests after which she will recieve all the parts of the code, once she was successful and the day would conclude she would be able to open the briefcase and reveal it's content.
After getting prepared and with great anticipation - the couple was whisked away in style by a Maserati and were taken to their very first activity of the day horse riding!
J adores horse riding so it was very special for her to share in this activity with N and while they were enjoying a casual ride J came across some beautiful signs. The signs which were pre-organised by us had meaningful quotes about love by famous philosophers as she loves to read books on the subject. This was a lovely unexpected suprise! Once the journey concluded the guide handed J an envelope with further instructions about the next activity as well as a poker chip with a digit - the first clue to unlocking the briefcase.
The couple then took a boat ride on a famous Riva boat. A classic and truly iconic way to navigate around, it is perfect for a lake Como proposal boat. Soon after they arrived at the next activity, a kayaking experience at the tip of the lake!
The couple sailed along and as they were close to finishing their journey they unexpectedly saw a beautiful picnic display our team was just busy setting up on the banks of the lake! To make it extra special we created custom posters from the couple's pictures with fun James Bond theme titles to connect to the Casino Royale theme.
The couple sat down to toast the undeniable views and of course enjoy their Lake Como picnic proposal moment.
(But to J's surpirse N didn't get down on one knee just yet!) They also received another poker chip and clue.
After the picnic had drawn to an end, the couple were transported by the Riva boat to a gorgeous private Palazzo for a tasting of local wines. A wine tasting is one of the best Lake Como Proposal ideas as the region has some delicious vino on offer.
We personalised all the labels on the bottles with notes about special memories they have shared which N wrote himself! As an additional thoughtful touch and as J collects corks, the sommelier gifted the couple a custom box for her to save the special corks in. And of course at the end of the tasting the couple recieved their final poker chip and a clue to return back to the hotel to open the case!
The evening of the Lake Como Proposal
When the couple arrived back to the hotel with all the poker chips at hand J unraveled the combination (their anniversary date) and was able to open the briefcase... The briefcase contained a gorgeous Gucci dress for a light House of Gucci reference alongside a pack of playing cards and a hidden message that can only be seen in blue light stating “Get ready for tonight at 7PM”.
When J arrived opened her closet she also found additional gifts from Italian fashion houses, D&G, Prada, Valentino & Gucci such as stilettos, a new purse, glasses, a blanket, bathrobe, and slippers to get ready with.
Shortly after a hair & makeup team arrived on site to glam J up and pamper her ahead of the big occasion!
The Lake Como Proposal
The couple embarked on an evening cruise exploring Lake Como and passing along some of the most loved locations on the lake Villa Balbiano and Villa del Balbianello, where both House of Gucci and Casino Royale were filmed. Then just as the sun set the couple docked at the stunning Villa La Cassinella, which we organised exclusively for the evening.

As our couple departed the boat they saw a stunning display of florals, candles and rose petals and N led J to the proposal location.
As they reached the incredible view for their Lake Como Italy proposal overlooking the breathtaking lake, N got down on one knee and popped the all important question! “Will You Marry Me!” Of course J said “Yes!”
The couple then toasted and enjoyed a violinist serenade to thier favourite song "You & Me" by Lifehouse, afterwhich as a fun concluding moment tying the theme all together, the musicians played the James Bond tune.
We also organised a Lake Como proposal photographer and videographer to take footage of the whole occasion and for a short shoot around the villa.
Finally the couple went indoors to enjoy a delicious exclusive Italian dinner with butler service. Another incredible proposal in Lake Como suggestion.
As they sat down there was a final gift - an easel that J uncovered revealing a picture of her favourite thing on earth - her puppy!
