Terms and conditions

We’re pleased you have chosen The Proposers Limited (“TPL”) to plan your very important event. Over the years we’ve created hundreds of marriage proposals and developed a system that our clients are pleased with. In order to keep everyone happy we’ve complied a list of T’s & C’s that are legally binding.

Client Requirements

TPL’s services are available only to individuals who are eighteen years and older, who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. By agreeing to use TPL’s services, you confirm that you are at least eighteen years old and that all information you provide to us, including name and address is accurate and truthful.

Our Services

TPL plans romantic events, this includes but is not limited to, Marriage Proposals, Date Nights and Weddings.

TPL use unaffiliated, third party companies to fulfil some of the activities and services. If a third party is used in connection with your event then the third party’s T’s & C’s must be adhered to as well as our own. Third party supplier T’s & C’s can be supplied upon request.

Booking & Cancellation

We will do our best to accommodate your desired event on your desired date, but scheduling is subject to supplier availability and is not guaranteed for any particular day or time. When you contact TPL, we will quote your event and find supplier availability.

We require a minimum of three weeks notice to plan all proposals and romantic events (however if you have a shorter time span then we are able to facilitate this). If you are quoted a price by us, these prices can be changed by our suppliers at any given time, without prior. TPL and all the associated venues require full payment before your event. Failure to make payment in time could result in cancelation.

If you are quoted a price by TPL, and the price is later increased by a third party supplier, then we will send you an invoice for the difference before making a confirmation.

Once your proposal is confirmed, we will email your proposal plan and confirmation. TPL reserves the right to cancel a scheduled proposal for any reason. In the event of bad weather, we will contact you if we need to reschedule the proposal or make any changes. You are not able to change your proposal date due to the weather. If you are late or miss a scheduled proposal for any reason, the event will be considered forfeited and all payments you have made in connection with such proposal packages shall be surrendered (of course, if you are late we will try delay everything as much as we can).

Making A Payment

TPL will not confirm a booking until an agreed deposit or 50% of the total budget has been paid up front.

TPL provides many ways to pay for their services. This consists of UK and International banking, PayPal or Western Union. No cheques or cash will be accepted unless otherwise discussed. TPL is a VAT registered company (181 8243 03 ) and you must adhered to the government fee of 20% on all items which are sold via the company. Under no circumstances will TPL accept cash.

We must receive the amount contracted after any bank charges, deductions or currency exchange rates. Client is responsible for all charges made by their bank or any transfers.

Photographery & Videographery

Footage taken is mostly captured from a hidden location as to not ruin the moment, please understand that during an event video quality could possibly be compromised to maintain the secrecy of the event before the big moment. After this, normal footage will resume.

Photos are supplied within 5 working days of the event. Photos will be supplied via a private website and only you will have a secure login. TPL will aim to supply high-res photos and web-res photos in colour and in black & white. Dependent on the type of event you will receive no less than 25 photos

Proposal videos tend to last 3 to 5 minutes. We can not make the video any longer if there isn’t sufficient enough footage to film. If you would like a longer video then you must let us know beforehand so we can brief the videographer and price accordingly.

Our videos have a similar style and format which can be seen here. Obviously every proposal and client is unique so your video will be different to those shown here, but it gives you a good understanding of the structure.

Rounds of amends on your video

You will be entitled to two rounds of amends. Amends constitute as ‘tweaks’ to the video, i.e wording changes or suggestions that you feel can make the video even better. If you request fundamental changes which result in the video being completely re-edited then additional charges will apply. Amends outside the two agreed rounds will cost £50 a round. Please note, if you want anything more than what we’ve shown above you must tell us before the filming day as fundamental changes requested afterwards may not be possible, as it may require special prior planning, different videography equipment or an extra camera operator.

When to expect your video

Your video will be ready within 4 to 6 weeks. For special circumstances we can push your video forward upon request. Once your video is complete you will be able to download it from Viemo and keep forever. Please note that you will have 3 months to edit your video before the job closes. After 3 months the job will need to be re-opened and a charge will apply. If you require Raw Files there will be a cost of £150. It is your responsibility to make sure you download your footage and back-up your video – the videographer will endeavour to keep archives of the proposal, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Copyright and Cancelations

Please be assured that we only work with the best cameramen and we have a long and successful relationship with them in capturing your perfect moment. The footage they capture is of the highest quality and we know our clients will not be disappointed with the outcome. If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with their work, no refunds can be given once they have begun work on it. You do however have 5 days before the event to cancel with a 85% fee refund.

You acknowledge and agree that all rights, title and interest, including all copyright laws, shall belong solely to named cameramen and their T’s & C’s are applicable. We reserve the right to use such footage in our promotional materials without your prior consent. After the event, and once you’ve have viewed and approved all footage, you will have the right to decline TP to use said footage.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be given due to bad weather on the day of your event. Where applicable, the company will always find an alternative option. Once the event is booked and paid for there will be no refunds. If your planner has not paid for any third party bookings then a full refund will be possible minus the planner’s fee to date.

In the event that she or he says ‘no’, all payments made to TPL and suppliers are non-refundable. We don’t give any details to third parties and your data remains with us.

Unless you have purchased props used for your event, all equipment, props and accessories remain the sole property of TPL and must be returned. Any discrepancies will be invoiced following the event, this includes any damage that could have been caused by you, the client. Failure to pay the invoice will result in legal action.

Assumption Of Risk

During your participation in any proposal or romantic event, you may face certain risks and hazards which we are in no way responsible for. We do have Public Liability Insurance but your participation is completely voluntary.
